The Central Agencies Cluster is looking for an individual to fill the role of Financial Analyst. This as a great opportunity to showcase your financial, problem resolution, and client relationship skills.
Please note: This position can be located in one of the following offices, and will be determined with the successful candidate: Toronto (222 Jarvis Street, Toronto) or Oshawa (33 King St West, Oshawa).

About the job

In this role you will:
•perform complex financial transactions and financial analysis
•provide expertise and assistance to the Cluster management in resolution of various interpretations of financial reports and documents relating to operations
•support cluster business case submissions and special studies by providing financial and analytical input
•maintain, update, and manipulate electronic software applications and databases in order to perform administration and analytical duties

What you bring to the team


Knowledge

• you have knowledge and experience in accounting principles and practices, and associated record-keeping to provide analyses of financial statements, budgets and forecasts, expenditures and cost recovery accounts, and maintain and reconcile financial records of the Cluster
• you have knowledge of financial reporting methods and analytical tools, and the ability to determine the appropriate tools and methodologies to apply in a particular set of circumstances (budget and forecast submissions and actual-forecast - budget variances)
• you have the ability to understand, interpret, and apply knowledge of the Government payment processing rules and practices to ensure that the clusters accounts payable are managed in a timely and appropriate manner

Reasoning and Analytical Skills

• you can interpret and analyze financial data
• you can formulate financial information and recommendations to be presented to Cluster management from the myriad of financial information and reports
• you can coordinate, monitor, and assess transactional, budget, and other financial information

Communication Skills

• you can communicate effectively with clients and suppliers
• you can provide written financial reports, interpretations, advice, solutions, recommendations and guidance on Government policies and Cluster processes

Computer Skills

• you have computer proficiency in software applications (Excel and Word) to assist in record keeping and complete analyses
