We are seeking an experienced, innovative and strategic leader who can both provide direction and oversight to the mandate and programs of the Ontario Police College (OPC) as well as lead the College through the Community Safety portfolio transformational plan.

In this pivotal role you will:

As an excellent communicator with strong leadership and relationship-building skills, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of specialists in support of modernizing the training programs of the College. You will also provide strategic advice and direction to senior management; provide leadership for college activities; build and maintain effective partnerships within the Ministry and with police services across the province.

You will ensure compliance with legislation and will assume the legislative role and responsibilities, which includes the Statutory Obligation of the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services that has the responsibility to operate the Ontario Police College (OPC) as set out in Section 3(2)(l) of the Police Services Act O. Reg. 36-02. The Act requires all municipal police services to send recruits to the college for their initial period of training to ensure consistency in training in accordance with provincial standards O. Reg. 3/99.

You will also be responsible for development/implementation of operational policies, legislation, regulatory procedures, monitoring/reporting processes and performance measures and maintain efficient and effective service to stakeholders.
