Are you willing to further develop your technical knowledge of highway planning and design in the delivery of large, complex transportation projects? Use your well-established project management, communication, problem-solving and leadership skills to be a Senior Project Engineer.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• manage the delivery of planning and design projects within economic trade corridors in the GTA
• lead a multidisciplinary project team in the project scoping, consultant acquisition and management
• obtain environmental approvals
• interact extensively with ministry management and project stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of quality products
How do I qualify?
Mandatory
• applicants must be licensed with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
• you have a valid class 'G' driver's licence
Technical Knowledge:
• you have knowledge of civil engineering as related to planning and design of transportation infrastructure
• you can administer the detail design of multiple transportation facility projects
• you have experience preparing contract drawings and documents
• you are able to administer feasibility, project scoping and preliminary design by adhering to related principles and practices
Project Management Skills:
• you have provided direction on the planning and design of transportation projects
• you are organized and can ensure project proposals meet project delivery timelines
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• you can develop and maintain effective working relationships
• you have experience leading complex projects
• you are able to resolve issues by problem-solving
• you can make decisions to effectively consult with project team members and stakeholders
• you have experience presenting and preparing correspondence such as Briefing Notes and Minister's letters
Other Skills:
• you are able to use computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
