Bring your operational acumen to the Ministry of Natural Resources' North East region to lead technical and professional regional staff in the implementation of the ministry's mandate of ecological sustainability – “Our Sustainable Future” – ensuring that important natural features are conserved and the resource base sustained.

About the job

As Regional Director, North East Region, you will provide leadership to the integration and delivery of the ministry's programs, such as: Forest Management Planning, Fish and Wildlife, Provincial Land Management, Renewable Energy and Species at Risk.

Reporting to the ADM, Regional Operations you will:

• Provide program delivery oversight to a regional team of over 300 staff in the regional office and 9 districts, in the geographic area north of French River, between Lake Superior and the Quebec border to the James Bay coast.
• Lead and direct the implementation of regional strategic and operational plans, establish regional priorities and goals and monitor progress.
• Engage clients and stakeholders and promote responsible and responsive resource management decisions.
• Champion change initiatives and ministry and regional programs and policies.
• Support and promote a productive team environment while fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, accessibility and excellence.

• You have proven operational leadership with extensive experience in program coordination and delivery in a large regional setting.
• You have an inclusive leadership style that enables you to build successful relationships with staff, teams, stakeholders and partners.

• You have demonstrated success in creating a vision for change and managing its implementation to achieve change.

Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills

• You have demonstrated expertise in leading issues management and resolution and risk mitigation strategies using excellent political acuity.

Technical Knowledge

• You have expertise in strategic planning and the ability to successfully prioritize, manage and direct physical, financial and human resources.
• You have knowledge of natural resource management and understand policy implementation as it applies to integrated and sustainable resource management.
