As the largest provider of water and wastewater services in Canada, we manage over 800 facilities from small well systems and lagoons to large water and wastewater treatment plants. About the job

In this role, you will plan, coordinate, administer and oversee operational and maintenance activities, including compliance with operational agreements in accordance with all relevant legislation, acts and regulations. Provide team leadership to operational and maintenance staff.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• Ability to obtain; Class 3 Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment, Class 2 Water Distribution & Supply, Class 2 Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection.
• Minimum Level 1 in all disciplines as specified in “O.Reg. 128/04 of the Safe Drinking Water Act” and “O.Reg. 129/04 of the Ontario Water Resources Act”.
• Valid Class G driver's license.
• Must be available to be on-call after regular working hours.

Knowledge

• Good technical knowledge of the theories, principles and practices related to the operation, maintenance and administration of water and wastewater processes and related equipment.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of environmental health and safety legislation, regulations, procedures and guidelines including the Safe Drinking Water Act, Environmental Protection Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, Regulations 180/03, 128/03 169/03, and 170/3, Occupational Health and Safety Act, National Fire Prevention Association Standards 291, Traffic Management Section 7 of the Highway Traffic Act as well as other statues to monitor program delivery and ensure compliance.
• Demonstrated experience supervising staff to train, direct and assign work activities.

Interpersonal and communication skills

• Good interpersonal skills are required to effectively communicate with Agency staff, clients, other levels of government and the public.

• Good planning, financial and analytical skills to manage and plan multiple projects & assess project priorities.
