If so, then consider this opportunity with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Direct Services Division, Emergency Health Service Branch, where you will provide a range of corporate support services in English and French.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• respond to inquiries received by phone, mail, email, and in person
• provide general information and direct inquiries to appropriate staff
• utilize software packages to prepare correspondence, memos, reports, charts, spreadsheets and presentations
• perform a variety of corporate administrative support tasks related to day to day office operations, and records, asset, security access cards and fleet coordination
• establish and maintain filing, databases, tracking and bring forward systems
• receive, open, sort and distribute incoming mail
• perform shared reception responsibilities

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• Proficiency in English as well as oral proficiency in French at the advanced level
• Job requires typing at 50 wpm

Administrative Skills:

• You have knowledge of administrative practices to provide support to the branch
• You have knowledge of the practices and process with respect to release of information, mail and records management, electronic and manual data management
• You demonstrate the ability to use office equipment such as photocopier, telephone system, scanner and fax

Computer Skills:

• You have strong proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and electronic mail applications to produce various documents

Problem Solving and Analytical Skills:

• You have problem solving skills to determine what matters are urgent and require immediate attention
• You have analytical skills to determine the most effective way to set up and maintain manual and computerized administrative filing, records and tracking systems and ensure accuracy of information

Interpersonal and Oral and Written Communication Skills:

• You have interpersonal and oral communication skills to provide general information and respond to inquiries
• You have written communication skills to compose various documents
• You can use judgement and discretion in dealing with issues and determine best course of action

Organizational Skills:

• You have strong organizational skills to prioritize workload and handle competing demands to meet tight deadlines
