About the job
In this role, you can will:
• monitor installation, maintenance and repair operations on transportation facilities and equipment related to traffic signals and illumination,
• monitor contractors in the delivery of highway maintenance and repair services,
• maintain accurate work records and documents, verify that performance standards are met, prepares reports,
• inspect Ministry facilities to make recommendations related to repairs or upgrades and or report damage or misuse,
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• You have a certificate of qualification for the trade of an electrician (with electronic endorsement for Maintenance and Construction)
• You have or can obtain an IMSA certification for traffic signals, level 1 and level 2.
• You have a valid class “G” Driver's License
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
• You have demonstrated knowledge and experience applying practices, procedures, specifications and standards related to the inspection, maintenance, installation and repair of highway electrical devices.
• You have knowledge and skills with contract management and administrative procedures, including documentation, cost estimates and administration of contract terms.
Communication and Negotiation Skills:
• You have proven communication skills to provide advice, input and interact effectively with contractors, consultants, and utilities.
• You have strong negotiation skills to reach agreement with contractors on changes to a contract.
• You have interpersonal skills to proved technical advice and make recommendations.
Supervision and Planning Skills:
• You have supervisory and planning skills to plan, direct and coordinate the activities of staff and contractors.
