Your well honed policy and program development skills are in high demand with the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities' Postsecondary Accountability Branch. Joining our dynamic team you will analyze complex policy and economic data pertaining to postsecondary education and funding.
About the job
You will:
• lead the research, development and implementation of complex policy projects
• design and analyze financial and economic models and forecasts
• conduct quantitative research, statistical analysis and environmental scans
• analyze and propose governance and accountability mechanisms
• recommend policy options to executive management
• liaise with stakeholders
• lead project staff
What you bring to the team
Specialized knowledge and technical skills:
• knowledge of economic theory, principles and practices and quantitative techniques and methods
• demonstrated experience in policy development as well as research and analytical skills to research and analyze data in order to identify trends, assess implications and develop policy options
• knowledge of statistical analysis theory and modeling techniques to design/calibrate economic/financial models
• proficiency with statistical analysis software packages i.e. SAS to analyze and manipulate relevant datasets
• demonstrated experience in designing and analyzing financial/economic models/forecasts, conducting environmental scans and trend analysis
• ability to develop an expert knowledge of the postsecondary education sector in Ontario in order to interpret and apply related legislation, regulations, objectives, policies and trends
Communication and stakeholder relationship skills:
• excellent advisory, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder relationship skills to provide advice and consultation services
• oral and written communication skills to respond to issues, provide recommendations, prepare issues papers, reports and briefings and to liaise with stakeholders
Project management skills:
• demonstrated project management skills to lead complex policy projects and to provide technical direction to project teams, project members and staff.
