The Office of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Precinct Properties Branch, is seeking a certified Electrician who can respond to all electrical issues in and around the building.

About the job

You will apply your extensive knowledge of relevant by-laws and codes to ensure safe practices are followed in the course of installing, repairing and maintaining lighting, receptacles and related switches, relays and transformers.

Your key talents enable you to diagnose problems with electrical equipment and systems and to provide cost-effective solutions in a timely manner. Your out-going personality lends itself to fostering positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, allowing you to investigate state-of-the-art technologies and techniques that can be applied to the Branch.

Mandatory requirements

To be considered as a candidate, you must be licensed in the Province of Ontario as a Maintenance/Construction Electrician or as an Industrial Electrician.

Knowledge and Skills

In combination with your proven years of experience you must have a flair for reading and interpreting drawings and specifications and as well heritage experience. You have the ability to lay-out and install conduits and fixtures and are familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act. You are driven by being organized, responsive and flexible. Superior communication, problem-solving, judgment and analytical skills will contribute to your success in this position.
