The Ministry of Government Services, Surplus Assets and Distribution branch seeks a dynamic, results-oriented individual with strong leadership and management skills to lead and manage the Ontario Public Service surplus assets and distribution programs.

This position will be required to work from 20 Vanley Cres. Toronto and 355 Carlingview Drive, Toronto.

About the job

You will:

- provide leadership for the development and communication of policies, processes, standards, systems and controls for asset and distribution programs within the broad framework of provincial legislation, emerging trends, industry standards and directions of the Ontario Shared Services;

- plan and manage concurrent projects;

- develop and manage the planning, marketing, delivery and evaluation of leading cutting edge programs and initiatives.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge & Skills:

- you have extensive knowledge of the principles, practices, legislation and standards associated with assets and distribution to assess strategic opportunities and risks;

- you can plan, manage and continuously improve surplus assets management functions;

- you have knowledge of procurement principles, practices and processes and associated environmental policies and knowledge of Canada Customs policies;

- you have sound knowledge of finance, administrative and human resources procedures, processes and systems to manage staff.

Leadership & Stakeholder Relations:

- you can foster an inclusive and engaging work environment with employees and stakeholders;

- you have experience managing a multi-disciplinary team responsible for the delivery of enterprise-wide assets and distribution programs in a unionized environment;

- you can build and nurture partnerships and ongoing contacts with the public and private sectors;

- you have strong project management, contract management, customer service and consultative skills to ensure optimum customer service and manage concurrent projects and ensure customers are aware of emerging development, trends and issues while ensuring day to day operations are maintained.

Negotiation, Communication & Computer Skills:

- you can provide consultative advice and expertise;

- you can build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders;

- you can negotiate and provide input into annual Service Level Agreement addenda;

- you can prepare briefing materials;

- you are proficient with business software (eg. word processing and presentation software).
