As the Assistant Deputy Minister, Public Safety Training Division, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic direction, executive leadership and authoritative decision making to deliver the best public service training in Canada. Your ability to connect across a horizontal stakeholder group will engage and ensure successful relationships with internal and external partners. The successful candidate will be able to communicate a compelling vision and secure stakeholder buy-in while promoting alliances and coalitions on a municipal, national and international level.

About the job

In this key executive leadership role, this position will be responsible for:
• Ensuring alignment of the ministries' long term vision and direction with the planning and implementation of an integrated service delivery model across the Ontario Correctional Services College, Ontario Fire College and Ontario Police College.

• Championing the building of a new integrated division, training model and management strategy that builds and fosters networks with learners and their representative organizations.

• Developing and leveraging partnerships with key stakeholders in the ministry, other ministries and other levels of government.

• Ensuring the development and introduction of new and advanced innovations in learning, new technologies and best practices for professional training.

• Leading the division to ensure structures, systems and processes are designed in a way that ensures the successful implementation of modernization and transformation.

• Creating and fostering a teamwork environment that encourages all employees to work collaboratively and cooperatively to promote a healthy, rewarding and productive work environment.

• Participating in Ministry strategic planning and decision making.
