About the job

Reporting to the Communications Manager, this position provides internal/corporate communications, government relations and issues management support to the Commission's overall objectives.

What you bring to the team


Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge and experience normally acquired throught a University Degree or College diploma in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism.
• Experience in progressively more responsible positions.
• Previous tourism/hospitality and/ or government related background.
• Experience in the use of new media, video and photography platforms within an internal/corporate communication environment.
• Superior written and verbal communications skills, as well as excellent editing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to deal effectively with both internal and external audiences/ customers.
• Accreditation and professional membership with organizations such as the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS).
• Motivated and well organized with the ability to manage and execute multiple tasks.
• High standards of ethics and professional conduct; general knowledge of The Niagara Parks Commission and its attractions, restaurants, retail operations and other services.
• Proficient in computer applications software, keyboarding, spreadsheet and word processing applications - familiar with Microsoft office capabilities (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM systems).
