About the job

In this dynamic role you will plan and coordinate the property administrative services and real estate activities for the region. This will include:
• supervising staff engaged in the transfer of legal title (by purchase and sale) of land and buildings
• coordinating and directing title searches of properties
• leading and directing expropriation procedures
• reviewing property agreements and ensuring compliance
• ensuring maintenance of all production control records
• providing consultation and advice and responding to inquiries

• You have leadership abilities to supervise staff, explain work assignments and provide direction and technical advice.
• You have planning and administration skills to schedule priorities and meet pre- determined property acquisition deadlines.
• You have coaching skills to effectively coordinate resources, transfer knowledge, and develop skills.

Technical Expertise:

• You have knowledge and experience with real estate practices, common law, contract law, estate law and corporate law related to real property and expropriation.
• You have working knowledge of policies, directives, guidelines and legislation related to conveyancing and expropriation.
• You are able to interpret and apply policies, procedures and statute and common law to ensure course of action is appropriate and authorized.

Communication, Influencing and Consultation Skills:

• You have proven written and verbal communication techniques to create correspondence, draft legal documents and briefing notes.
• You have interpersonal and presentation skills to represent the ministry
with a range of external stakeholders.
• You have influencing and advisory skills to convince others and update management.
• You have consultation and negotiation skills to define issues, resolve discrepancies and determine courses of action.

Administrative Skills:

• You have knowledge of financial and accounting procedures and systems to prepare and monitor budgets and supervise land payments.
• You are able to assess operational, technical and administrative needs of the unit.
