About the job
In this role, you will:
• provide project management and team leadership
• ensure data availability, integrity, communication performance, security and capacity management
• handle database connectivity software upgrades, communication utility evaluation and operational support
• consult with clients and provide technical support
What you bring to the team
Analytical and Research Skills:
• you have experience handling database connectivity issues, concerns and initiatives related to data integrity, security and communication
• you can use research to create proposals and recommend data connectivity standards and communication protocol (TCP/IP)
• you can review systems performance issues and data organization
• you can evaluate and recommend cost effective use of new data connectivity products, data modelling tools and enhancements to hardware and software environments
• you can analyse new features of database management systems and technology to enhance performance
Database Knowledge:
• you know database connectivity products, such as TCP/IP
• you know and can use multi-platform integration (IMS, DB2 and ORACLE) to assess the impact of data
• you have knowledge of systems performance and monitoring
Project Planning and Communication Skills:
• you can lead the project team in design and development of corporate data models for systems, databases, data management structures, standards, policies and procedures
• you can co-ordinate projects and provide technical direction and leadership in a multi team, multi project environment
• you can prepare cost estimates, implement schedules and technical reports, make recommendations, monitor project development and ensure efficiency
• you can supervise and lead staff, including assigning work and reviewing assignments
• you can use your communication skills to negotiate, present proposals and write reports
• you can lead discussions, co-ordinate with multiple users and third parties in order to meet goals
