About the job
Duties Will Include: Represent the Crown, the Ministry of the Attorney General, other Ministries, agencies, boards and tribunals in various legal proceedings, including expropriation proceedings, actions, applications, appeals and applications for judicial review before tribunals, boards and in various levels of court. Acting as counsel as part of a team on high profile complex corporate commercial and real estate litigation proceedings.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
Membership in the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Knowledge & Skills
Experience in expropriations, corporate/commercial litigation and advocacy. Knowledge of rules of evidence, mediation and ADR, the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act, the Expropriations Act, other corporate, commercial and real estate legislation. Experience in complex corporate/commercial and real estate litigation cases. An ability to conduct research, handle own files and assist senior counsel with complex files; proven ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience and ability to work to strict deadlines in high volume environment; excellent judgment, analytical, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
