About the job
You will:
• work 10 hrs/week (2 hours daily - 5 days a week) to assist students and staff with morning and breakfast routines in residences.
What you bring to the team
Knowledge and related experience
• Secondary School Graduation Diploma or College Certificate/Diploma in a child related field and/or equivalent training and experience in working with learning disabled children in a residential facility;
• knowledge of relevant legislation i.e. Child & Family Services Act and various policies, procedures, guidelines and practices related to student care and supervision;
• demonstrated ability to maintain responsible care and supervision of students;
• excellent communications skills, including written English to communicate effectively with students /staff / parents;
• ability to work as a team member.
