About the job
You will:
• assist in the planning and execution of public events including duties such as vendor booth sales, supplier procurement, cultural programming, arranging of performers, developing and executing technical set-up, guest service and other event support
• provide strong and timely administrative support including coordination of event-related procurement of goods and services, communication of event details both internally and externally, tracking of budgets and writing reports and summaries
• plan and execute event promotions including the preparation and/or distribution of materials for advertising, on-site and off-site promotions and corporate website
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Valid class “G” driver's licence or equivalent to drive on Ontario highways.KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• You have experience assisting with the creation, planning and execution of high profile public special events.
• You have experience with a wide array of positive customer service scenarios.
• You have knowledge of office administration procedures, office equipment, digital cameras and audiovisual equipment to provide effective support to staff.
• You have knowledge of purchasing procedures to review and assess against relevant policies.
• You have knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act as it pertains to the work being performed.COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK SKILLS
• You have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and the public.
• You can interact with other team members to discuss varying points of view, ideas and opinions to help make timely decisions.COMPUTER SKILLS
• You have knowledge of computers and a variety of software to produce letters, reports, presentations, budgets, etc.
