About the job

In this role, you will:

• Lead the planning and development of pharmaceutical strategies, policy proposals, programs and service mechanisms, and payment models and methodologies;
• Provide advisory services, issues management and strategic planning expertise to senior management;
• Provide liaison services to stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, health organizations and other government agencies;
• Manage a team of staff, provide leadership and supervision, and oversee fiscal and human resources management;
• Lead and/or participate on projects and policy initiatives, including support for Product Listing Agreements.

What you bring to the team


Mandatory requirements

• You have a degree in pharmacy and a license to practice pharmacy in Ontario

Technical Knowledge

• You have knowledge of the drug programs in Ontario, and relevant legislation, issues and trends
• You have knowledge of pharmaceutical industry practices and standards, and Ontario Guidelines for Drug Submission and Evaluation
• You have a good understanding of the roles and authority of key stakeholders within the pharmaceutical services industry

Interpersonal, Negotiation, Communication, Consultation and Stakeholder Relationship Skills

• You can establish and foster strong stakeholder relationships
• You can conduct complex negotiation and achieve consensus from stakeholders on diverse pharmaceutical issues
• You can prepare and present complex strategies, program and policy matters, reports and proposals

Strategic Planning and Analytical Skills

• You can anticipate policy and program development needs, conduct multi-year planning, and analyze policy and program issues from a corporate perspective
• You can develop strategies and mechanisms to support short and long-term objectives of the branch

Managerial and Leadership Skills

• You have knowledge of operational planning, performance measurements, quality assurance and best business practices
• You can provide strategic expertise and leadership to the team
