What can I expect to do in this role?

As the Middleware Support Specialist you will :

•provide senior level technical systems administration and operational support for the .NET Solutions Delivery Environment infrastructure
•provide support for the planning, maintenance and deployment of system upgrades
•provide middleware systems management expertise and consultation
•provide change management for the development and implementation of new systems
•develop and recommend policies and procedures to maintain technical integrity and security control of systems and data
•provide oversight to operational and project activities by completing tasks and assigning tasks
•participate in 24x7x365 on-call support to ensure continuous availability of .NET solutions Delivery Environment to both internal and external clients

How do I qualify?

Technical Skills

•You have knowledge of the integration between middleware technology components hosted on the .NET SDE with infrastructure components to respond to and resolve technical issues
•You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in integrated multi-tier, multi-platform environments to support Systems Centre Technologies, Internet Information Services, and Integration Services
•You have demonstrated knowledge of industry standards and IT Service Management concepts such as ITIL to provide support
•You know information and information engineering principles, client server and multi-tier technologies
•You have demonstrated knowledge of systems and network architecture to provide technical expertise for the support and maintenance of .NET SDE hardware and software products
•You have the ability to acquire knowledge of government and ministry directives, standards, policies and guidelines to develop proposals

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

•You have reasoning and evaluative skills to develop guidelines and procedures for improvement
•You have problem solving skills to identify and define integration problems and coordinate resolutions
•You have analytical skills to coordinate problem determination and develop and implement resolutions to data recovery and security issues
•You can identify problems and solutions to IT related issues

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

•You have written communication skills to prepare reports, briefs and papers on systems management
•You have oral communication skills to explain technical solutions and make presentations
•You have demonstrated interpersonal skills to present and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of proposals
•You can negotiate provision of services or acquisition of hardware and software with vendors
•You can clearly and concisely interact with clients to quickly solve problems
