The French-Language Education Policy and Programs Branch seeks a motivated and skilled individual to provide a full range of bilingual administrative and secretarial support to the French-Language Curriculum Policy Unit.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Working closely with the Manager, Policy Analysts and Education Officers, you will:

• support staff on the preparation of a variety of correspondence and confidential documents
• proofread materials in French and in English
• schedule appointments, make travel arrangements and coordinate meetings
• assist with budgeting and prepare expense accounts
• participate in special projects and perform other secretarial duties accurately and efficiently

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirement:

• You are proficient in English as well as in oral and written French at the superior level.

Administrative knowledge:

• You have demonstrated secretarial experience and good knowledge of office practices and procedures to perform a full range of administrative and clerical functions.

Communication and interpersonal skills:

• You demonstrate oral and written communication skills to compose and edit correspondence and provide information or redirect inquiries in response to queries from public and private sector.
• You demonstrate interpersonal skills to deal with staff and clients in a tactful and courteous manner.
• You demonstrate discretion to ensure confidentiality by determining the extent of information to be provided in response to inquiries.

Computer skills:

• You are proficient is the use of computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Organizational and team work skills:

• You demonstrate organizational skills to meet deadlines.
• You have the ability to work under pressure, with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
