Join the management team at the Ontario Clean Water Agency (OCWA) in an exciting opportunity to
lead and inspire a dynamic team in the provision of safe, client oriented, and profitable water and/or wastewater services in the province of Ontario.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Class 4 certification in Water Treatment, Class 4 Water Distribution.
• May consider lesser qualified candidates as underfill - minimum Operator-in-Training (OIT), as specified in O.Reg. 128/04 of the Safe Drinking Water Act.
• Valid Class G driver's license.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
• Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the construction and maintenance of Water Treatment Plant and Distribution Systems, operations, maintenance and administration.
• Sound knowledge of related legislation, codes, standards, policies, and quality assurance and client service principles and practices.
• Profound understanding of the related business environment, growth and commitment to corporate strategies and goals.
• Price, proposal development, project management and budget control.
• Negotiate with client for current and expanded scope of services.
Communication, Political Acuity, and Relationship Management Skills
• Ability to model outstanding team leadership, managerial and coordinating skills, initiative, innovativeness, decisiveness and support for considered, rational risk-taking.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to providing competitive, commercialized services in a client-driven business.
• Very strong analytical and evaluating skills to assess administrative and technical needs and capabilities, thoroughly appreciate the implications of options, make major administrative, construction and operating decisions, solve complex problems, and direct projects.
• Superior interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communications, assertiveness, consensus-building skills and diplomacy, smooth presentation skills.
Other Essential Skills
• Knowledge of financial resources management to develop and manage area budget and overall agency budgets
