Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Advisor, Digital and Social Media is responsible for the ongoing management of the IPC's digital presence on the web and in social media.

About the job

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and execute digital communications that inform and engage the IPC's audiences. You will:
• Actively participate in the redevelopment of the IPC's websites.
• Develop and execute weekly and monthly editorial calendars aligned with the IPC's overall communications plan.
• Generate, edit, design, publish and share content (text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful engagement with our audiences.
• Continuously improve by capturing and analyzing the appropriate analytics, metrics, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to manage reputation, identify issues and coordinate action.
• Develop and distribute the quarterly newsletter and announcements to stakeholders in collaboration with other departments.
• Develop and implement internal communications strategies to ensure IPC staff are informed and engaged.
• Other duties as required.

What you bring to the team


Communications and Technical Skills

• Expert knowledge and proven experience in web and social media strategies.
• Expertise in managing websites using WordPress and creative materials using the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Excellent writing, editing (photo/video/text), presentation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of digital typography and its role in design, techniques, graphics photography and illustration.
• Knowledge of design requirements for social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Analytical, Evaluation and Organizational Skills

• Experience in digital communications and social media.
• Proactive, highly organized and extremely detail oriented.
• Ability to self-motivate and work independently to identify and complete work goals.
• Expertise in web-based initiatives, including content management and site design.
