If you are experienced in adult education principles, practices and needs analysis, then consider this unique position with the Ministry of Transportation's Remote Northern Transportation Office and join the newly created team leading the Safety, Regulatory Compliance, Emergency Management and Training requirements where you will coordinate the review, preparation and implementation of the Remote Northern Transportation Offices' Airport Training Program with a focus on Heavy Equipment operation, airside safety, airport procedures and general workplace safety.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this position, you will:

• Conduct needs analysis to identify organizational and individual training priorities and development strategies.
• Direct the development and delivery of various training courses and programs
• Develop partnerships with internal and external contacts to collaborate on learning initiatives
• Support organizational direction through innovative, resourceful and effective training development and delivery methods

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge:

• You have in-depth knowledge of adult education principles/practices to lead the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of ministry training programs.
• You have knowledge of relevant mandates, legislation, policies, programs and business goals to conduct training needs analysis and develop training program curriculum.
• You have knowledge of business needs and roles of clients to customize training programs, and support established learning objectives.
• You have knowledge of procurement policies/process, planning and project management methodologies to conduct training and projects, recommend training providers and complete performance reviews and evaluations.

Communication Skills:

• You utilize strong communication and consultative skills to provide expert advice and recommendations on long/short term training strategies and initiatives.
• You have strong oral communication skills to establish collaborative working relationships, and to deliver training programs/courses.
• You have demonstrated experience delivery training courses and sessions to adult learners
• You utilize strong written communication skills to prepare training and development materials, track training, etc. using computer applications for word processing, presentations, process mapping, file sharing, conducting internet research and data analysis.

Consultation and Relationship Building Skills:

• You have developed consultation and influencing skills to work with ministry senior management and program managers to establish training program priorities, and obtain support in delivering training programs.
• You utilize strong advisory skills to explain training program policies, procedures and standards to ministry management and instructors, and to ensure compliance.
• You have relationship building skills to establish partnerships with other levels of government; establish contracts with external vendors

Research and Analytical Skills:

• You have the ability to identify and manage concurrent contentious issues and make recommendations, evaluate training programs and resolve training delivery issues.
• You have the ability to interpret and apply recognized methods, policies and procedures to meet financial/regulatory requirements and assess operational and administrative needs.
• You use analytical skills to evaluate trends, standards, policies and protocols to identify requirements, develop options and make recommendations.
