About the job
In this dynamic role, you will:
• provide expertise and advice to support large and complex procurement initiatives to ministry clients;
• provide excellent customer service and deliver procurement support to client ministries;
• determine cost-effective procurement strategies;
• provide policy interpretation, advice and recommendations on a variety of procurement practices, planning methods and processes, and the changing procurement environment;
• provide advice and guidance to clients in ensuring clarity, and consistency in the preparation of all procurement documents;
• conduct research and analysis on products or services.
What you bring to the team
Procurement Knowledge:
• You have proven knowledge of and experience with supply chain management, end to end procurement processes, procurement principles and best practices.
• You have knowledge of e-procurement solutions.
• You have knowledge of the supply market, potential partners and service providers to advise and guide clients in the development and administration of RFBs (request for bids).
• You have experience with risk assessment methods and techniques to identify, analyze and mitigate risks to the client.
• You have strong project leadership skills to lead complex procurement initiatives using a disciplined project management approach.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You have strong interpersonal skills to build and enhance client relationships.
• You have demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to prepare and present procurement materials including reports, RFPs, contracts and legal agreements.
Organizational and Analytical Skills:
• You are a strong negotiator and can analyse client or vendor issues, develop solutions and resolve problems.
• You have planning and organizational skills to coordinate multiple procurements within established timeframes and deadlines.
Transformation skills:
• You have the ability to identify opportunities to improve business processes and you are able to understand the changing needs of clients and the business climate.
