About the job

You will:
• coordinate and/or conduct projects for the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards and guidelines;
• conduct biology, ecology, resource management, socio/economic and environmental risk assessment, reviews and analysis of SAR permits/agreement applications;
• provide Species at Risk expertise, advice and guidance to ministry staff and external stakeholders.

What you bring to the team


Natural Resource Management

• You have sound knowledge of and experience with the theories, principles and practices of the ecological and biophysical sciences, as they relate to species at risk.
• You have applied knowledge of specialized environmental scanning methods, policy research, analysis and development principles, methods and techniques.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You have demonstrated effective communication skills, and can communicate technical information, legislation and policy information to a variety of audiences, prepare briefing notes, minister's letters and government responses to inquiries.

Relationship Management Skills

• You have demonstrated interpersonal, networking and consultation skills to participate in consultation processes with internal and external stakeholders.

Analytical and Evaluation Skills

• You have experience applying strategic thinking, program development and implementation skills to develop and implement recovery strategies and actions.

Leadership

• You have proven leadership and coordination skills to coordinate, lead, and support assigned staff on a project basis.

Project Management

• You have project management expertise to lead, review and evaluate projects, effectively and within tight deadlines.

Computer Proficiency

• You have working knowledge of data and information analysis techniques and computer-based analytical, data management and modelling techniques.
