Are you an environmental professional with hydrogeological expertise? Then we need your skills to independently conduct reviews of environmental site assessment reports and other related technical
information associated with Records of Site Condition filed to the Brownfields Environmental Site Registry under Ontario Regulation 153/04.
About the job
In this role you will:
• conduct desktop reviews
• ensure compliance with relevant environmental legislation
• design and conduct field sampling investigations, including supervision of drilling activities
• prepare and present scientific information
• assist in the development of procedures and guidelines
• respond to enquiries from the public and prepare correspondence
• provide expert advice to qualified person and other stakeholders
•assist other Ministry staff in technical reviews of environmental assessments
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• You must be registered as a professional geoscientist, or professional engineer in Ontario and qualified to conduct geoscience work in Ontario
• You have a valid class G Ontario driver's license
Environmental Knowledge
• You have knowledge and experience in contaminant hydrogeology and remediation including related theories, principles and practices
• You have experience conducting field investigations that include soil and groundwater sampling, and restoration and remediation methods to assess site conditions
• You know environmental legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines which includes Records of Site Condition Regulation - Ontario Regulation 153/04, Environmental Protection Act, Ontario Water Resources Act.
Communication and Computer Skills
• You know how to use computer modeling and other software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database
• You work well with others and within a team
• You are able to compose written materials
• You present information clearly
Essential Skills
• You have investigative, research, and analytical skills
• You have project management experience
• You can develop solutions to resolve problems
