Do you have strong leadership and project development skills? If so, join the Government Services Integration Cluster as the I&IT Project Manager where you will concurrently plan and lead multiple large and diverse cross ministry/multi-year projects.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• manage internal client and stakeholder relationships/networks and provide guidance and expertise on the use of information technology
• develop project charters and master project plans, as well as guide the definition of goals, deliverables and scope
• develop integrated project plans to schedule, prioritize, document, monitor and control projects throughout life cycle
• provide leadership to project teams, external service providers and contractors as well as coordinate project monitoring, tracking and assessment to ensure project completion in accordance with the project plan
• anticipate and troubleshoot issues, identify and assess risks, and recommend mitigation
• provide advice for the development of business cases regarding the use and cost-benefits of information technology in business planning
• ensure fiscal control and accountability for project budgets and provide budget reporting

How do I qualify?

Project Management and Leadership Skills:


You have:
• knowledge of project management theory, methodologies, techniques related to all phases of an IT project life cycle to lead and manage end to end IT projects
• knowledge of change management principles and techniques to proactively and strategically manage the human factors associated with change and facilitate business process change
• experience leading, coordinating, measuring, controlling and reporting on all phases and technical aspects of projects
• experience guiding the work of project teams, providing technical direction and supervision as well as assigning and guiding work of team and project partners/peers that do not report directly within the team

Project Development and Resource Management Skills:


You have:
• knowledge of project planning theory, methods, techniques, standards and best practices and experience developing integrated project plans to define project goals, deliverables and scope
• knowledge of resource management approaches and strategies, including financial management to develop and manage project budgets
• ability to acquire and apply knowledge of OPS procurement and tendering policies and processes to negotiating goods and services, and administer contractual agreements

Consultation, Communication and Collaboration Skills:


You have:
• written communication skills to prepare procedures, proposals, presentations, business cases and tenders
• presentation skills to address risks and benefits of recommended solutions and course of action to senior management
• consultation, persuasion, negotiation, mediation and relationship management skills to elicit client requirements, resolve conflict as well as develop and sustain working relationships

Technical Knowledge:


You have:
• knowledge of I&IT technology development and implementation, including emerging technologies, to assess client needs, lead projects, and provide recommendations for improvement
• experience managing I&IT projects across a wide range of enterprise based systems, platforms and technologies, with an understanding of areas of expertise associated with contributing project roles

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:


You have:
• experience assessing client needs and business requirements, identifying and evaluating issues and risks, as well as recommending appropriate solutions
• the ability to interpret and apply OPS and I&IT management direction and strategies to ensure compliance
• ability to acquire and apply knowledge of client operations, business functions, programs, processes and objectives to define effective project scope and approaches, develop project plans as well as assess and advise on I&IT options
