An exciting opportunity is available in the Home and Community Care and Aging and Long-Term Care Unit, Implementation Branch, for analytical, results-oriented professionals interested in developing strategic health policy for Ontario. Working with a team committed to improving the quality and delivery of publicly-funded health care services, you will help set strategic direction for Ontario's health care system.

About the job

In this role, you will:

• Develop innovative health policy options and recommendations based on evidence-based policy research, analysis and synthesis.
• Provide leadership and expertise in researching, designing and implementing health policies and strategies that improve Ontarians' access to a quality, integrated publicly funded health system.
• Provide project leadership on health system policy and strategic initiatives.
• Develop partnership with key health system stakeholders.

What you bring to the team


POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND RESEARCH EXPERTISE:

• You have working knowledge of health policy development, policy and research tools, system improvement and planning methodologies.

CRITICAL THINKING, CREATIVITY AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

• You are an accomplished critical thinker who can define problems based on a systems view, conceptualize complex issues and creatively develop coherent results-oriented plans to achieve improvement.
• You have proficiency in MicroSoft Word and PowerPoint.

RELATIONSHIP AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT SKILLS:

• You have demonstrated experience leading projects from concept to implementation using initiative and drive.
• You can effectively engage with others to build beneficial partnerships and productive teams.

HEALTH CARE SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE:

• You have knowledge of the health services and programs available for seniors in Ontario.
• You have an understanding of the healthcare system, structures, processes, stakeholder groups and affected populations.
• You have the ability to understand how healthcare services are delivered in Ontario, the role of the ministry and Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), and the levers and instruments of change.
