Are you a seasoned project leader with a background in research and knowledge mobilization? The consider this new opportunity with the Education Research and Evaluation Strategy Branch where you will design, develop and implement a corporate knowledge mobilization strategy to maximize the impact of research and create a culture of knowledge mobilization in the Ministry of Education and the broader education sector.

What can I expect to do in this role?

• lead the design, development and implementation of the corporate knowledge mobilization strategy and implementation of the Knowledge Network for Applied Education Research (KNAER) for the Ministry
• promote collaboration amongst partners and foster knowledge mobilization activities and provide expertise
• lead the development of an action plan to create knowledge networks with multiple partners and build system-wide capacity for knowledge mobilization and evidence use
• coordinate research of emerging technologies (e.g. knowledge network platforms, products and strategies
• synthesize bodies of research knowledge with policy and practice implications and identify options for linking research, policy and practice
• analyze findings and prepare briefings and responses regarding knowledge mobilization strategies to senior executives
• deliver presentations and engage partners to establish mechanisms for the development, collection and distribution critical research

How do I qualify?

Research and knowledge mobilization expertise:

• You have knowledge mobilization strategies, methods and concepts to maximize the impact of research and provide leadership to the development and implementation of knowledge networks.
• You can build networks and partnerships with research partners and education organizations that enable the achievement of the ministry's knowledge mobilization strategy.
• You understand provincial education priorities and strategic directions pertaining to research and knowledge mobilization
• You have knowledge of knowledge sharing platforms (e.g. SharePoint) to support knowledge exchange.
• You have knowledge of learning principles and strategies for professional adult learners to support capacity building.

Research, analytical and project leadership skills:

• You have research and project management skills to develop, implement and monitor action plans, identify resource requirements, outcomes and measures
• You can provide technical leadership/direction to project team members, monitor and manage project progress, identify and resolve
issues, and ensure timelines and objectives are met.
• You can process and distill information from a range of sources, evaluate implications and analyze gaps to form advice and recommendations to senior management.
• You can oversee contracts and transfer payment processes.

Collaboration and communication skills:

• You can develop and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders and lead groups of professionals on knowledge mobilization projects.
• You can influence change and obtain buy-in and support for the development of strategies for exchanging information on education research activities and priorities, and coordinating activities to build alignment.
• You have oral and written communications to respond to issues, provide recommendations, prepare reports, briefings and presentations.

Creativity, innovation and strategic thinking:

• You have strategic thinking skills to develop and to provide input for organizational strategic plans and knowledge mobilization strategies.
• You can display creativity and innovation to design and execute a strategy that enables the mobilization of research and evidence and has significant impact in shaping evidence-based policy and practice.

Technical knowledge:

• You can coordinate the design, dissemination and use of a wide range of knowledge mobilization products, resources, and tools.
