The Communications & Corporate Affairs Division requires an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide research, analysis and advice in relation to Ontario's beverage alcohol and gaming matters and provide a variety of services necessary to fulfil operational needs and the mandate of the AGCO.
About the job
• Review and report on legislative and political issues that may arise in relation to the AGCO and the Ministry of Attorney General (MAG) through monitoring provincial question period, legislative committees, Hansard, etc.
• Draft responses for AGCO and MAG inquiries
• Prepare briefing materials, reports, housebook notes and option papers for various audiences including MAG, the AGCO Board of Directors, C-Suite and Senior Management and others as necessary
• Resolve day-to-day information requests from MAG, government agencies and stakeholders
• Provide support in the business planning process, and broader branch activities and projects
• Support agency accountability and compliance reporting activities to MAG and other areas of the Government including compliance with, for example, the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, the French Languages Services Act, and requirements and responsibilities under Ontario Government Directives and guidelines.
• Assist with the identification, analysis and resolution of potentially contentious issues
• Conduct research on emerging issues and communication strategies
• Contribute towards the development of AGCO publications and Internet/Intranet sites
• Support ad hoc requests from the C-Suite, senior management and other areas within the Division, as required
