A challenging opportunity exists in the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, Health Capital Division, Health Capital Investment Branch. As a Programs and Standards Advisor, you will lead the development of policies, processes and standards for the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a complex and high-profile portfolio of capital projects for Ontario health care facilities.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• Lead the development of capital programs and processes;
• Develop policies, standards and guidelines for capital project implementation;
• Provide leadership, advice, guidance and support to branch staff;
• Consult with stakeholders of capital programs and liaise with staff across government; and
• Lead and/or participate on cross functional teams with representation across the Ministry and health sector in support of Ministry policy priorities.
What you bring to the team
Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:
• You have demonstrated analytical and research techniques and skills to investigate various issues and problems regarding the development of capital programs and standards, guidelines and/or procedures.
• You have proven evaluation and problem solving skills to assess the effectiveness of policies, practices and processes, and conduct analyses and evaluations.
Health Care Knowledge:
• You have demonstrated knowledge of capital investment best practices, programs and issues.
• You have expert knowledge of the healthcare sector, ministry strategic directions, programs, services and relevant legislation.
• You have demonstrated experience in policy and/or program development and implementation within the complex broader public sector.
Operational Planning Skills:
• You have demonstrated expertise in strategic and operational planning to provide input into planning matters, and integrate corporate objectives into development planning.
• You have proven knowledge of and experience in the development of standards, performance indicators, benchmarking, monitoring and evaluation strategies, tools and standards.
Communication and Relationship Management Skills:
• You have demonstrated consultation, oral and written communication skills to prepare reports, proposals and submissions.
• You can develop effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
