About the job

In this job you will:
• Provide technical leadership for Datawarehousing solutions using Business Intelligence (BI) technologies such as ETL processing, COGNOS and Webfocus reporting etc
• Provide technical leadership in the evaluation, development and implementation of technical standards, policies and procedures related to ITsystems development and the utilization of equipment for development and maintenance purposes
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost/benefit analyses on complex systems initiatives, and recommend systems development solutions
• Co-ordinate development of all systems documentation, provide senior expert software development and oversee testing and implementation of systems and applications
• Provide technical expertise in the acquisition, utilization, integration and evaluation of complex and specialized hardware, software and systems
• Establish and maintain tools, techniques, standards, documentation and performance criteria
• Prepare RFPs for external resources and assist clients with determining information technology priorities
• Participate in corporate initiatives to establish and maintain enterprise standards for application services and components

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge

• Knowledge of multi-tiered open-standard Data Warehouse, ETL and Business Intelligence technologies
• Knowledge and experience of application development in a complex environment including mid-tier and workstation computer system technologies, including multiple Enterprise level ETL tools
• Knowledge of application software, networks, Internet and emerging technologies
• Ability to use BI tools such as (COGNOS 10.1 or higher and Web focus 7.7 or higher) and Informatica 9.1 or higher.
• Knowledge of ETL common practices, and an understanding of technical documentation to outline and communicate solutions as necessary
• Knowledge and experience of Relational database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
• Knowledge of theory and principles of systems design, development, related methods, techniques, practices and standards
• Knowledge of enterprise database and business intelligence tools, Enterprise Resource Planning product suites, Web Reporting, and SPSS

Analytical & Problem Solving Skills

• Ability to identify and evaluate information technology options
• Ability to develop new multi-tiered information systems or systems modifications and evaluate and recommend acquisition of applications, hardware/software and information technology services
• Ability to assess information/systems needs and lead development of information technology solutions
• Ability to analyse and advise on development of information technology priorities
• Ability to address new system requirements by designing alternative systems applications
• Knowledge of PL/SQL, SQL statements and ability to conduct complex systems analysis and design functional/data requirements, design business, data and functional models, middleware to support workflow and N-tier integration solutions

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Oral communications skills to discuss requirements and lead discussion
• Ability to make a variety of technical analyses, limitations and considerations clear in non-technical terms
• Written communication skills to prepare project reports, explain analyses/recommendations and develop feasibility studies
• Ability to explain/illustrate alternate solutions to systems development requirements
• Ability to develop support for recommended approach

Project Management Skills

• Knowledge of system development methodologies in order to lead a project team for a technical project implementation
• Knowledge of project management methodologies, analytical tools and processes for sizing, estimation and creation of WBS for complex IT projects
• Ability to co-ordinate analysis and definition of requirements
