Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Operational Initiatives, this position enables and manages the planning and execution of strategic operational projects, including, but not limited to casino modernization, lottery modernization, and standards implementation.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will use your current and applied knowledge of project and change management methodologies and best practices to:
• Lead planning and implementation of large initiatives, or components of larger operational initiatives
• Define and develop project plans and deliverables required to implement projects/strategic initiatives
• Manage projects tasks, issues, risks and scope changes through the entire project lifecycle
• Develop communication plans and communications artefacts to effectively support implementation of projects
• Communicate project updates and status to Branch management, project sponsors and project team members, executive team, and internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate implementation and manage change that will result from implementation of strategic initiatives
• Work with effected operational areas and end-users to identify impacts to their processes, procedures and functions, and develop corresponding transition plans
How do I qualify?
The Ideal Candidate will have:
• Relevant and demonstrated project management experience managing large, complex change initiatives
• Direct experience managing and engaging stakeholders, partners and project team members
• A proven ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships at all levels of the organization, both internally and with external organizations
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability and experience delivering results within tight deadlines and in complex environments
• Excellent consultative, research and analytical skills to assess current state, determine future desired future, and assess impacts of changes on the organization and external stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal, team leadership and coaching skills, and advanced facilitation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, and experience presenting to various audiences
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint
• Knowledge of project, portfolio and program management methodologies and leading practices
• Educational background in a related discipline
• Ability to travel within the region occasionally to conduct project work
