Are you a strategic, results-orientated leader with a passion for driving business change priorities and delivering quality customer service? If so, consider these exciting opportunities with the Information, Privacy and Archives Division.

As Director, you will promote excellence in information management practices in Ontario government ministries and agencies and provide oversight of the Archives of Ontario, which provides innovative leadership in collecting, preserving and promoting the records of the Government of Ontario.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Chief Privacy Officer & Archivist of Ontario, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership, priority setting and direction for the conceptualization, development and implementation of strategies and initiatives to drive the priorities of the Information, Privacy and Archives Division.
• Ensure a focus on easier access to, and increased use of government information; more effective enterprise records information management (RIM) leadership through policy and implementation services which focus on enablement; the building of digital capacity for the modern environment; and the development and implementation of efficient, integrated, sustainable business and operating models.
• Build a collaborative and customer-centric culture.
• Provide leadership and promotion of a culture where coaching, mentoring, and commitment to continuous learning and dynamic leadership practices are valued and exercised.
• Work with partners across the Division, other ministries, and third parties to develop and drive focused quality, value-added and scalable self-service business models, programs and products.
• Provide direction and leadership in the development, implementation and delivery of legislation, policies, programs, strategies, best practices and operational policies, standards, procedures and guidelines to build the foundation for the whole life of government records.
• As a member of the Divisional senior management team, participate in Divisional/Ministry strategic planning and decision making activities to support OPS and ministry corporate priorities leading to the transformation, cultural change and new direction for the Division.

• You have superior communication and executive briefing skills to effectively provide strategic advice to Ministers, Deputy Ministers and other senior officials.
• You have demonstrated a high degree of political acuity to anticipate and respond to politically sensitive situations.
• You are a sophisticated communicator able to represent government and lead external stakeholder engagements.

Technical Knowledge

• You have knowledge of access to information and privacy protection legislation and practices for provincial, municipal governments and provincial agencies.
• You have knowledge of records and information management practices to provide innovative leadership to direct enterprise-wide policies and programs aimed at effectively collecting, preserving and promoting the records of the Government of Ontario.
• You have experience driving focused quality, value-added and scalable self-service business models, programs and products.
• You have experience in performance measurement development, monitoring and evaluation.
