About the job
As a member of the Senior Management Leadership team you will:
•lead innovative modernization and improvement of the service delivery model for the province's death investigation system that incorporates quality assurance and supports a culture of continuous refinement
•provide senior medical management leadership, innovation and quality oversight
•lead the development of new/revised provincial processes, procedures and standards in accordance with the Coroners Act
•lead the development of a management framework that incorporates a nursing perspective, and include the establishment of performance metrics to assess the quality of services delivered province-wide
•contribute to policy development and short/long term strategic planning to support death investigations
•provide leadership, oversight and large-scale project management in identifying and developing solutions for program development and change
•enlist engagement and develop relationships with Investigating Coroners
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
BSc in Nursing from a university of recognized standing and current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.Leadership and Management Skills (INSPIRES)
You have:
•Proven managerial skills to manage staff, interpret collective agreements, and ensure compliance with workplace legislation
•Leadership skills to collaborate with senior management colleagues in the recruitment, training and oversight of members of the death investigation teamPerformance Management, Project Management and Research Skills (DELIVERS)
•You possess performance management techniques and methods to propose and implement performance metrics, benchmarking and data analysis
•You have superior analytical skills to develop, recommend and implement new/revised processes, requirements, guidelines, etc, for the conduct of death investigations across the province
•You have research skills to identify and assess issues and trends with potential impact on the death investigation system
•You have project management experience and can lead large-scale planning and coordination activitiesCommunication, Consultation and Advisory Skills (CONNECT/TRANSFORMS)
• You can recommend new/revised approaches, policies and procedures to the Chief Coroner and Deputy Chief Coroners, and make presentations as an active member of the Senior Management Team
• You have demonstrated oral and written communication
• You have proven experience to promote buy-in for recommended changes and can promote greater connectivity with Investigating CoronersTechnical Knowledge (DELIVERS)
You have:
• Knowledge of pathophysiology, toxicology, clinical presentation in conducting a death investigation
• Understanding of the role, activities and mandate of the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service, death investigation protocols and medical standards and practices
• You have the ability to acquire and apply relevant legislation such as the Coroners Act, Anatomy Act, to understand their application to death investigationsComputer Skills
• You can research information, prepare briefings, presentations, proposals, observations and recommendations
• You can enable analytics/data analysis
