If so, you may have found your niche, as a Forest Business Analyst with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• be the advocate for the forest products sector on a provincial scale
• provide financial reviews of forest industry business plans, prepare business activity reports for the forest industry related to mergers, acquisitions, investments, or closures, and undertake the analysis of trends
• participate in the development of the forest industry sector strategy and value-added strategy
• undertake complex projects and assignments and prepare reports which identify the effects of provincial policy as it relates to the competitiveness of the forest products sector
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• must have a valid class 'G' driver's licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario
Forestry knowledge:
• in-depth comprehensive knowledge of the forest industry and its products internationally
• thorough knowledge of the theories and principles of forest resource management, normally associated with a degree in the science of forestry or equivalent experience
Business and marketing knowledge:
• knowledge of marketing theories and practices combined with knowledge and understanding of forest industry trade, business analysis and financial analysis normally associated with a Master's Degree in Business or equivalent experience
Communication and interpersonal skills:
• proven interpersonal, consultation and presentation skills to effectively deliver information, provide advice and gain support for the section's programs
• ability to work in partnership with senior management staff and forest industry officials
• demonstrated communication skills, tact, diplomacy and good judgment in order to effectively correspond with stakeholders
Computer proficiency:
• able to productively use common office productivity software, as well as a solid understanding of economic modelling as it relates to information for the forest industry
Other important skills:
• demonstrated administrative, project management and organizational skills to handle multiple conflicting priorities, track progress and meet deadlines under pressure
• proven record of results orientation and client satisfaction in a variety of settings
