Your strong leadership, coordination, and project management expertise are in high demand in the Ministry of Community and Social Services' Program Policy Implementation Branch. In this challenging opportunity, you will play a key role in supporting, assessing, and enhancing information management capacity and skills to effectively support staff in delivering programs in the adult developmental services sector.

About the job

You will:
• Ensure projects are developed based on sound research and adhere to legislative/business requirements
• Undertake consultation and analysis; develops and coordinates project implementation plans; supports successful implementation of provincial initiatives and programs that are beneficial to adults with developmental disabilities
• Engage regional/corporate offices and other stakeholders in strategic planning and decision-making
• Provide advice and recommendations to senior management

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge

• You can plan, develop, and implement policies/programs and operational initiatives
• You understand government decision-making processes/structures as well as the role played by cabinet office, other central agencies, and line ministries
• You know the strategic relationship between policy, fiscal, and program issues as well as the public context in which decisions are made

Project Management

• You have proven project management skills to provide lead research studies, analysis of trends, and planning for the implementation of strategic programs and policies
• You can monitor project progress

Research, Analytical, Problem-Solving Skills

• You have demonstrated research, problem-solving and analytical skills to identify, analyze, and advise on program changes/risks and contentious issues
• You can develop, implement and evaluate policies and programs
• You have a proven proficiency with computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets and internet to research and prepare own materials

Interpersonal, Negotiation, and Consultation Skills

• You have demonstrated interpersonal and consultation skills to conduct stakeholder consultations and liaise with extensive network of key organizations, committees and management
• You have proven negotiation skills to gain support on issues, options, and recommendations

Communication and Presentation Skills

• You have proven oral communication skills to respond to issues, provide recommendations, and promote initiatives
• You have demonstrated written communication skills to prepare reports, briefing materials, cabinet submissions and communications materials
