Are you a leader with superior communication and marketing skills? If so, bring your expertise and leadership to the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO)!

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a key member of the management team, working with a high-degree of autonomy, you will:

• conceptualize, implement and manage the development of innovative communication, public affairs/marketing and media relations plans and strategies in French and English
• act as the primary contact for all incoming media requests
• proactively promote the agency, identify outreach opportunities to maintain excellent stakeholder relations, and provide communications/public relations support to the CEO, the Chair of the Board of Directors and other senior management officials
• manage the EQAO Information Centre, all internal communications, issues management activities, public website, social media and ensure the consistency of all EQAO corporate communication media messages

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirement:

• You are proficient in English and in verbal and written French at the superior level (see 'view more information' link above for definitions of French proficiency levels).

Communications and public relations knowledge:

• You have knowledge of the principles and techniques of communications, public relations, and marketing/promotion.
• You have experience developing and implementing business and strategic plans to support communications objectives.
• You have knowledge of public consultation and communications principles, methods and strategies to lead consultations with stakeholders.
• You have experience managing issues in a high-profile and contentious environment.
• You are familiar with the application of a broad range of marketing and communications methods/tools (e.g. video, internet, print).

Leadership and managerial experience:

• You can foster an inclusive work environment with employees and stakeholders.
• You have experience developing, managing and coaching a highly motivated team of professional staff to deliver results.
• You have expertise in structuring, organizing and managing multiple complex projects, with a proven track record of successful project completion.
• You have experience managing financial budgets and human resources, including labour relations issues.

Relationship management and communication skills:

• You have experience building and maintaining relationships across the organization as well as with external partners in order to gather input and build consensus and deliver on priorities.
• You have good judgement and political acuity to deal with highly visible, complex and politically sensitive issues.
• You have strong writing skills to prepare/review communications products.

Analytical thinking and conceptual skills:

• You have analytical and research skills to anticipate issues, analyze their impact, and develop options and recommendations.
• You can conceptualize issues that are complex, ambiguous or vague and develop creative, effective plans.
