Central Agencies I&IT Cluster, Architecture, Information Management & PMO Branch is currently looking for a highly skilled professional to join our high-performance Cognitive Computing & Innovation Services Consulting Team. In this role, you will be assigned to a variety of projects with a focus on the development of IT architecture for Cognitive Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cloud-based solutions supporting the Ontario Public Service (OPS). You will have the opportunity to work with leading technologies on an interesting and diverse range of projects.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Lead the development of an IT architecture for the delivery of Cognitive Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud-based solutions for the Cluster's Ministry Clients to enable their business transformation initiatives.
• Lead the development of an IT architecture for the migration of on-premise solutions to a Cloud-based solution to enable significant improvements in performance and the total cost of ownership.
• Lead the development and maintenance of technology roadmaps for Cognitive Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud-computing solutions for the Cluster's Ministry Clients that assist in enabling business strategies and recommend technology directions that support effective investments in information technology.
• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of technology baseline architectures for Cognitive Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud computing solutions that foster and promote re-use while ensuring the baselines conform to industry and OPS I&IT standards.
• Provide consulting and subject matter expertise in the technology architecture domain, with a specific focus on Cognitive Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Cloud-hosted solutions.
• Plan, develop and manage projects for the development and implementation of specific technology architectures on multiple Information and Information Technology projects.
• Lead the design and development of technology architecture artefacts that meet business client requirements.
• Provide input into the development, enhancement and maintenance of architecture policies.
• Provide innovative ideas and solutions using persuasion skills to win support for your ideas while promoting the value of I&IT architectures.
• Develop and maintain networks with internal/external stakeholders.

How do I qualify?

Architecture Expertise:

• You have expertise in I&IT enterprise architecture with applied expertise in the Technology domain, IT strategies, policies, plans, current and emerging enterprise architecture principles, methodologies, mechanisms and techniques (e.g. Zachman Framework, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF).
• You are an experienced technical architect having designed multi-tiered applications, databases, LDAP and directory services, application servers and network infrastructure.
• You have expertise designing, developing and implementing business intelligence and data warehousing solutions.
• You have experience with advanced analytics, big data, cognitive computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning tools, processes and solutions.
• You have experience with programming languages such as Python, R, Java or .NET.
• You have experience implementing Cloud-hosted solutions utilizing infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS) and software as a service (SaaS).
• You have experience implementing big data technologies and solutions and have experience with SQL, No SQL, relational database design and methods.
• You have experience leading the development of technology architecture artefacts, documents and materials on business intelligence, master data management, Hadoop and/or cognitive computing solutions.
• You have the ability to apply industry best practices and standards in technology architectures.
• You have experience in distributed application design/development and software lifecycle methodologies.

Consulting & Interpersonal Skills:

• You have demonstrated consultation skills to meet with clients to understand business needs and to develop technology architectures.
• You have demonstrated ability to establish relationships with I&IT managers, senior clients and project stakeholders, and consult with vendors, consultants and peers to address systems issues and developments.
• You have demonstrated experience negotiating customer service agreements and resource requirements with clients and other IT groups to minimize service delivery issues and problems.

Project Management and Planning Knowledge and Skills:

• You have demonstrated knowledge and experience in technical analysis, planning, processes, modelling, and redesign to contribute architecture advice and expertise to projects, initiatives, and client solutions.
• You have knowledge of IT project management policies, procedures and methodologies to plan and lead concurrent architecture projects and provide guidance to the project team.

Research and Analytical Skills:

• You can assess architecture and data management needs and business requirements.
• You can research and recommend innovative Cognitive Computing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Cloud-hosting best practices, policies and strategies.
• You can make recommendations, and provide advice on general and specific architecture and data management issues.
• You can provide leadership in developing and implementing solutions.

Communication Skills:

• You can present IT strategies and roadmaps to senior management and stakeholders.
• You can present information, options and recommendations, and facilitate discussions among stakeholders with different interests.
• You can deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders and interview highly skilled IT professionals.
• You can prepare briefing notes, reports, presentations, designs, and plans.
