The Ontario Digital Service (ODS) is improving the online experience for Ontarians by reinventing the most important government services for the digital age.
ODS is responsible for a growing number of public facing digital products including web content management, web publishing, online public consultations, open data catalogue and visualization, laws repository, location and mapping, search, API and more.
About the job
• You will lead product initiatives from concept to release, while ensuring smooth operations and continuous product improvement.
• You will build solid relationships with partners to understand the needs of their users, so that you can help them develop strategies to deliver the best solutions.
• You will help your team and stakeholders build empathy for end-users with the assistance of UX specialists to create a common understanding of user needs and pains.
• You will write job stories to develop feature sets and prioritize them to build clear roadmaps. You will map out a path to the minimum viable product as well as subsequent phases and coordinate resources to deliver them.
• You will manage a portfolio of clients making competing demands for new products or enhancements to deliver on your commitments.
• You will establish, report on, and strive towards product service level targets to provide quality services.
• Based on expert advice, research, and benchmarking, you will develop a product roadmap to deliver on the public's evolving expectations.
• You will provide product management advice and guidance across the organization and externally to share expertise and build digital capacity in government.

What you bring to the team
Product management:
• You have lead digital initiatives from concept to launch using agile methodologies like SCRUM and coaching project teams.
• You have experience developing product roadmaps and backlogs and knowing how to prioritize features to ensure a smooth and on-time delivery.
• You have experience scoping user needs to deliver product enhancements through continuous iterations.
• You have written job stories to develop feature sets and then working with the development team to create user stories that can be implemented.Digital leadership
• You have knowledge of and experience with current web trends, and standards like the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and WCAG 2.0 AA, and FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).
• You have experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (user experience designers, developers, architects and quality assurance experts) to deliver complex a range of digital solutions.Communications and interpersonal skills

Language requirements and assessment:
