To position the ministry for success now, and in the future, the ministry recently launched a new strategic framework: MTO ONE: A Strong Transportation Future Together. As a seasoned leader, this is a unique opportunity to drive first-in-class strategic HR services to support the ministry's new directions and cultural shift.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As the Director of Strategic Human Resources with the Ministry of Transformation, you will:

• Provide executive leadership to an accomplished team of 30 HR professionals, with ministry-wide responsibility for:
o Talent and performance management;
o Workforce and human capital planning;
o Organizational capacity and change management;
o Employee engagement, diversity and inclusion;
o Health, safety and wellness; and
o Strategic labour relations.

• Collaborate and partner with senior management to translate business requirements into solution-oriented and people-focused HR strategies.
• Lead human resources priority setting activities, and embed human resources as a key partner in business strategy throughout the ministry.
• Build and foster collaborative partnerships with senior executives, business partners, bargaining agent representatives and key stakeholders.
• Champion a culture of excellence with a focus on superior team performance and the successful delivery of innovative and client-centric strategic HR services and corporate initiatives.
• Inspire the team to deliver superior innovative, solution-oriented human resources services.

• You are a results-oriented senior leader, with strong strategic and business planning skills to establish branch goals and objectives and to continually drive service excellence.
• You have a honed strategic orientation with the proven ability to lead the development and implementation of innovative, transformational human resources solutions that support business needs.
• You have a broad background which includes exposure to strategic human resources and labour relations, leading in a unionized, public sector environment as well as sound policy and program delivery experience.
• You have proven ability to engage and inspire a team to deliver results and apply best practices for employee engagement when managing people and transformational organizational change.
• You have demonstrated success leading issues management and developing risk mitigation strategies.

Stakeholder and Relationship Management

• You demonstrate exemplary relationship building skills to build effective and meaningful relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
• You are an effective communicator and consensus builder who is able to work collaboratively with senior executives, colleagues and key stakeholders. You have the ability to work to strengthen relationships with key partners.
