This individual would create, implement and sustain programs that drive an inclusive culture where all people at Metrolinx feel comfortable being themselves, thereby leading to a stronger sense of belonging and greater innovation and success.
What can I expect to do in this role?
Key Responsibilities:• Consulting expertise for the design, implementation, and assessment of inclusion initiatives within the context of the Metrolinx Inclusion strategy and action plans
• Refresh and recommend metrics and processes used to measure and fine tune inclusion and engagement activities
• Provides input to metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that reflect inclusion priorities; produces a Dashboard with relevant KPIs to showcase accomplishments and permeation into the business. Prepare and deliver reports for executive teams including the Board of Directors
• Uses critical thinking and data to understand the impact and realized benefits of inclusion and engagement initiatives
• Ensures programs align with the approach and content of human resources programs such as employee on-boarding, professional development, recognition, performance improvement, engagement, and succession planning
• Executes reporting and monitoring mechanisms that track the progress and overall effectiveness of our programs, initiatives, and activities
• Keeps current on inclusion programs and developments by maintaining a wide professional network
• Fosters diversity of thought and innovative ideas that can have a broad impact.
• Demonstrates written and presentation skills; a natural, experienced storyteller/spokesperson, able to partner with leaders to construct effective narratives for adoption of inclusion initiatives.
• Develops and sustains strong collaborative partnerships with HR (e.g. Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, HR Services), Business Leaders, internal committees and groups (e.g. Employee Resource Groups, Employee Engagement Think Tank, People Change Network) and other major stakeholders to develop and integrate analytics driven inclusion solutions into division objectives and action plans
• Provides the training and tools required by HR to support discussions with business leaders on Inclusion initiatives
• Collaborates with Corporate Communications and HR Services to roll out communications and awareness campaigns, as required for program delivery
• Tracks, monitors and reports on compliance of applicable policies and procedures according to strategic direction from the organization, market trends and corporate and legislated directives
• In-depth understanding of operating within a large, complex, matrixed organization
• Owns and delivers on the implementation and continuous improvement of relevant processes
• Works on special projects within HR and representing HR on Enterprise initiatives
• Influences and negotiates accountability and responsibility for Inclusion program delivery, driving alignment across executives and peers at all levels in an organization.
• Provide input to the preparation of budget and allocation of resources to support the organizational priorities within the portfolio
• Monitors progress to ensure that program objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and that anticipated business results are achieved
• Manages and provides overall direction to the team, including defining team roles, responsibilities, and expectations; provides feedback and ensures they are equipped with the necessary tools and information to enable their full engagement
• Monitors the achievement of performance objectives; developing and implementing action plans to address gaps in performance
How do I qualify?
Qualifications:
• Completion of a bachelor degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent; an advanced degree preferred
• Minimum ten (8) years' experience in the Diversity and Inclusion field with public and/or private organizations with large employee populations
• Change Management, Lean Six Sigma Certification and Canadian Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation would be an asset
• Business acumen coupled with knowledge of HR principles, practices and legislation as pertains to the inclusion and diversity field of work
• Intercultural competences and ability to assess difficulties and utilize change management to assist people through transition
• Understanding of cultural nuances, market trends and key indicators that impact and advance an inclusive culture
• Ability to analyze data and produce reports that provide valuable insight for decision-making
• Track record of demonstrable technical competence in designing and delivering Inclusion programs that achieve improved Inclusion outcomes.
• Experience in the public sector or transportation industry would be an asset
• Excellent client service skills with an ability to translate clients' business to develop and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities in a complex work environment that is derived from your dedication and motivation to achieve high standards.
• Knowledge of training and coaching principles
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to lead and/or work as a team member and build and maintain a positive work environment
• Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks and details relating to areas of responsibility
