About the job
You will:
• provide compelling and accurate social and digital media content in a timely manner; implementing, maintaining and growing a social and digital media community focused on events and happenings within the St. Lawrence Parks Commission (SLPC) brand consisting of an emphasis on Parks of the St. Lawrence (14 campgrounds and beaches), Upper Canada Golf Course, Crysler Park Marina, Skywood Eco Adventure, and Upper Canada Migratory Bird Sanctuary
• manage social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• develop content, delivery and use tools such as Sprout Social to manage multiple social media channels and websites aligned with the SLPC Marketing strategy
• maintain creative content within the SLPC website
• be able to creatively write in a consistent voice that follows brand guidelines
• ability to work various locations (travel within the attractions) at various events
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Valid Ontario Class G driver's licence or equivalent to drive on Ontario highways.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
You have knowledge of and demonstrated experience with:
• communication theory, methods, techniques and various social media audiences including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Apps, Google Analytics and Google Ad Words
• content management, social media development and web publishing
• current and leading social and digital marketing trends as well as search engine optimization to develop content for best results
• Microsoft Suite programs in PC/Windows environment, User interfaces, browser compatibilities, to ensure optimal delivery of social media initiatives
• World Wide Web, including its capabilities, advances, opportunities and technical requirements in order to develop and support the creative elements of SLPC's websites
• knowledge of web design, web development, and SEO as well as web content editor platforms
• photography and video filming & editing
• graphic design and experience using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop
COMMUNICATION AND ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS
You have:
• strong oral communication skills to provide advice and recommendations on social/digital media approaches to achieve objectives, liaise with external vendors/advertising agencies
• creative engaging text, image and video content
• customer service skills to effectively manage community engagement on social media platforms
• copy writing and editing skills to create accurate specific content aligned with SLPC's brands and marketing strategy
• organizational skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, in a fast paced environment
• planning, project management and coordination skills to manage concurrent projects, schedules and timelines
• creativity and demonstrated successful immersion in social/digital media forums to provide appropriate content and management of initiatives
ANALYTICAL AND RESEARCH SKILLS
You have proven analytical and research skills to:
• maximize social media metrics to analyze results of social and digital media initiatives, competitive intelligence and research
• to identify sources of data, collect and compile information and assess/determine the most effective content to meet the social community needs; to analyze performance metrics for social media campaigns and benchmark to industry trends
