What can I expect to do in this role?
As the Manager, Sainte-Marie Operations, you will:
• Provide operational leadership and direction on the heritage conservation of the attraction including all management of archeological assets, delivery of key messages around historic significance and overseeing the historic nature of the site.
• Plan, implement and monitor capital program projects and provide capital development expertise to senior management.
• Coordinate and establish priorities for capital maintenance and development plans, including developing joint government/partner capital ventures.
How do I qualify?
Mandatory:
• You must possess a valid Ontario Driver's Licence
Strategic Leadership:
• You have strategic leadership and management skills to provide leadership to a diverse, multi-disciplined team and oversee and schedule work in accordance with corporate and divisional priorities.
• You have a passion for developing, building and leading organizational capacity through inclusive, positive, and values based leadership in areas of organizational design, recruitment, talent and performance management and labour relations matters.
• You have the ability to be responsible for the overall compliance with legislative statutes, collective agreements, government and ministry policies, directives, guidelines and commitments related services.
• You have sound judgement and political acuity skills to provide authoritative advice and guidance to senior management.
Program Management Skills:
• You possess knowledge of resource management principles related to management, operations and planning.
• You have the ability to collaborate with other agencies including ambulance services, fire services, to develop a comprehensive approach to emergency planning and management for the purpose of first aid response, critical incident management, road closures and disaster planning.
• You have knowledge of budgetary and financial processes to prepare, implement fiscal and performance budgets, multi-year and annual work plans, and monitor/report on budget allocations.
• You have experience monitoring work to ensure compliance with all relevant ministry, division and branch policies and procedures.
Communication and Stakeholder Relationship Skills:
• You have strong communication skills to effectively develop and manage relationships with staff, volunteers, visitors, service providers and other government agencies.
• You have interpersonal and team building skills to provide leadership, monitor performance and promote excellence in customer service and team performance.
• You have the ability to participate on provincial task teams for the development of policy and legislation for provincial park operations, development and enforcement.
• You have persuasive communication and presentation skills and strong skills in developing a variety of written materials (e.g. briefing notes, reports, correspondence).
Technical Abilities:
• You have knowledge of general facility, grounds keeping, utility and equipment maintenance.
• You have knowledge of capital development to understand site development and construction plans.
• You are able to apply and interpret relevant legislation, policies and procedures and possess working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
