If you have a thorough knowledge of strategic communications planning principles and practices and can link those to practical solutions and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, then consider joining our Communications Team at the Ministry of the Attorney General.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will be responsible for:
• managing, developing and implementing communications responses, strategies and resource materials to position, promote and support the mandate of the Office of the Chief Justice
• developing and recommending strategic communications approaches to build the image of the Office of the Chief Justice
• leading the development of strategic communications plans and products to support the Office of the Chief Justice initiatives
• managing a wide range of complex issues, communications plans and projects in a fast paced environment with a wide range of files, including emergency and crisis communications

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

You must possess oral and written French language skills at the superior level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Technical and Leadership skills

You have:
• demonstrated experience with communications practices, tools and techniques
• demonstrated knowledge of strategic communications planning and products including digital and social media
• demonstrated knowledge of policy development and political decision making processes and protocols
• project leadership skills with the ability to balance multiple projects with competing deadlines
• the ability to work effectively either independently or as part of a team
• computer proficiency to conduct research, manage budgets, develop communications products, conduct research and communicate with internal and external partners (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Internet, Microsoft Outlook)

Consultation and Communication skills

You have:
• exceptional relationship management and conflict management skills to develop effective partnerships with stakeholders and colleagues
• strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
• excellent writing and editing skills to translate complex information into clear, easy to understand language
• the ability to develop and present communications and issues strategies senior decision makers
• public relations skills with an understanding of a range of ethnic, cultural and other identifiable communities

Research and Analytical skills

• You have research and analytical skills to provide thorough, accurate environmental assessment as part of the strategic communications planning and implementation process
• You can identify and analyze attitudes, emerging issues and trends, and their relevance to current processes and policies
