The Justice Technology Services is responsible for Information Technology (IT) services and support to the Justice Enterprises - Ministry of the Attorney General, Ministry of the Solicitor General and their external Justice partners - that enable transformation into a modern, effective and efficient justice system.

The Opportunity

Come and showcase your specialized IT knowledge at the Ministry of the Solicitor General where you will provide senior technical leadership, expertise and overall project co-ordination, and control all activities in the development of application solution design with the Justice Technology Services Division.

You will be developing the new IT solutions, setting up environments, and creating necessary enhancements to the business applications to support Ministries' modernization and transformation goals.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Lead Developer, you will:

• Provide specialized technical expertise and advice in the overall design, development, testing, implementing, maintaining and enhancing system architectures (technical, data, application, network) for both acquired and developed application solutions.
• Oversee the performance of specific system integration from a technical perspective, including designing appropriate architectures and recommending cost-effective and high-performance tools and middleware.
• Lead the development or implementation of current computerized solutions to support end users, project teams, and peer technical staff.
• Provide technical expertise and advice/mentorship on programming practices and techniques to individuals and cross-functional teams.
• Provide leadership and in-depth knowledge and expertise for technical project work.

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

You have:
• expert knowledge of current and complex information technology and information engineering principles, computer programming techniques, current development platforms(.NET, mobile platform and others), and leading-edge application development technology (web-based, n-tier), and comprehensive understanding of system architectures
• expert knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) and IT service management (ITSM) concepts
• expert knowledge of a full range of current development tools/languages within .NET framework (Visual Studio, Visual Basics, C#), HTML, Dynamic HTML, Angular, mobile platform, and SharePoint
• understanding of and skills in data design and management, database development, and current versions of SQL Server; Oracle; XML/XSLT/XSD, Windows server environment

Excellent Reasoning and Problem-Solving Skills

• You possess highly developed interpretive reasoning and problem-solving skills to assess and recommend architectural strategies
• You can assess technical design problems and develop computerized solutions to information problems in support of end users
• You can assess problems referred to by other analysts in the section and to identify, diagnose and resolve complex problems
• You can identify current microcomputer and mainframe software requirements for clients with highly technical complex requirements and provide solutions to improve administrative productivity

Communications, Facilitation and Negotiation Skills

• You have strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation/influence and client relationship development skills to discuss client I&IT program/service delivery needs, requirements, goals, objectives and priorities
• You possess oral communication and listening skills to lead technical discussions with clients, managers and vendors
• You can prepare senior-level briefing materials, cost-benefits analysis, project reports, analysis, and recommendations

Group Leadership Skills

• You have the ability to lead/coach/mentor senior developers as part of a team
• You have demonstrated ability to lead/contribute on multiple projects concurrently
