The Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO) is an arms-length government agency focused on modernizing Ontario's approach to large-scale assessment. This transformation is part of an exciting mandate to contribute to the continuous improvement of Ontario's publicly funded education system. The agency creates and delivers engaging and relevant assessments for students that lead to further insights into their learning. EQAO is seeking two Operations Officers with project management experience to assist with the planning and execution of large-scale assessment projects.

About the job

• Determine logistical and resource requirements with respect to projects for provincial assessment materials, including development of project plans, budget and operating costs
• Coordinates and oversees administrative processes and logistics for assigned projects including national and international assessments. Participates in the development of project plans by identifying logistics/procurement/temporary staffing requirements in consultation with project managers, internal and external stakeholders.
• Plans and coordinates tasks for assigned internal and external projects (e.g., field test scoring, full scale assessment scoring, assessment committees, scorer selection and training, scoring centres set-up and teardown).
• Coordinates the processes for scoring activities, including on-line administration site to support applications, selection/training of participants, attendance for activity participants, sign-off and approval process for applications.
• Develops/maintains database application for assessment project resource information, (e.g. school lists, list of approved teacher scorers, statistical reports, flowcharts, event layout and floor plans).
• Work with staffing agency to retain services of temporary staff, and provide training and guidance during project execution

• You can prepare project plans, track and monitor processes and deliverables
• You can work independently and ensure your tasks and projects are completed on-time

Technical knowledge:

• You can acquire knowledge of business objectives and assessment program delivery, to plan, organize and coordinate the logistics for large-scale assessment projects

Communication and interpersonal skills:

• You have interpersonal skills to train temporary staff and monitor performance
• You have written communication skills to prepare project plans and reports
• You can provide advice and recommendations on processes related to logistics and facility arrangements
• You can effectively exchange information with stakeholders

Analytical and problem solving skills:

• You have analytical skills to set productivity performance indicators and assess project progress
• You can identify data or operational issues, troubleshoot problems and recommend resolution of logistical issues
• You have evaluation skills to determine the staffing, scheduling and budget requirements of upcoming projects

Computer proficiency:

• You are proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet and database applications to prepare correspondence, notifications, reports and track project information
