What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• support talent specialists and managers in hiring top talent utilizing inclusive hiring practices to reach the OPS's inclusion and diversity and anti-racism objectives and goals;
• prepare recruitment and hiring documentation;
• make recommendations on the recruitment process;
• support strategic recruitment initiatives;
• track recruitment activities and follow-up with hiring managers;
• communicate with internal and external applicants.
How do I qualify?
Human Resources and Recruitment Knowledge:
• You have demonstrated knowledge of the recruitment process to provide advice to clients, and support Talent Specialists in the delivery of talent acquisition services.
• You have experience applying barrier-free recruitment strategies to support inclusive hiring.
• You have the ability to interpret and apply collective agreements, legislation, and policies as they relate to recruitment.
• You have knowledge of pay administration to accurately prepare hiring documentation.
Client Service, Team Work and Communication Skills:
• You have customer service and interpersonal skills to provide quality advice and service to OPS hiring managers.
• You have oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with applicants, including the general public, and establish working relationships with all levels of management and staff.
• You have demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast paced virtual team environment.
Analytical, Organizational and Time Management Skills:
• You have analytical, attention to detail, and evaluation skills to screen applications, determine applicant eligibility, identify issues and make recommendations.
• You have organizational and time management skills to manage high workload volumes in a fast paced virtual team environment.
• You are able to coordinate and prioritize workload to complete work within timelines.
Computer Proficiency:
• You have knowledge of information technology and software such as Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) to prepare reports and spreadsheets as well as develop, manipulate and maintain databases.
• You are able to use human resource information systems.
