Working closely with management and staff in various departments you will identify, recommend, develop, implement, manage and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization. You will manage staff and also define and implement I&IT policies, procedures, and best practices, all in support of OSC business objectives and our public science communication mandate.
Please note that the position may require after hours availability to ensure service delivery.
How do I qualify?
I.T. Knowledge and Experience
• You have knowledge of I&IT technologies, strategies, industry trends and offerings to support project, portfolio and program deliverables and transformation in a service and experience delivery organization
• You have the ability to evaluate user end needs and system functionality to support operational requirements for different business areas (e.g. finance, human resources, design, exhibit operations, research, ticketing/reservations and on-line sales (including CRM), events, fundraising and other corporate systems)
• You have demonstrated experience with large enterprise systems and applications that meet business priorities, budget targets, and service delivery levels (e.g. Siriusware; SharePoint; Business Dynamics/Great Plains; Microsoft Exchange; Telephony; LAN/WAN; Artifax; customer relations management systems and data asset management systems)
• You have demonstrated experience with IT security including developing innovative strategies for threat and vulnerability management, tracking and analysis utilizing industry standards
• You have demonstrated experience with networking technologies (e.g. CISCO networking technologies)
• You have the ability to acquire and apply an understanding of enterprise I&IT standards and directives to ensure compliance of project initiatives as well as to ensure success and integration of programs, portfolios, and projects
Leader/Manager Competencies
• You have leadership skills to direct and inspire multiple project teams, including project team members who are highly technical and multidisciplinary
• You have demonstrated political acuity and excellent communication skills to work successfully with all levels of an organization including employees, management and executive in the delivery of business transformation initiatives and to exercise appropriate and effective influence across the I&IT and business communities
• You have influencing, negotiation, and collaboration skills to connect with, and influence all levels of stakeholders including executives on I&IT initiatives
Program Management Knowledge and Skills
• You have experience in project, portfolio and program management with demonstrated knowledge of standards, techniques and methodologies
• You have demonstrated program management experience on large scale, complex, high profile and high risk initiatives (through all project phases: concept, definition, planning, implementation and close out)
• You have demonstrated experience with program, portfolio and/or project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Enterprise Portfolio Solution, Planview and/or equivalents)
Controllership Skills
• You have financial and controllership management expertise to develop and manage multiple complex budgets
• You have an understanding of procurement policies to support acquisition of I&IT resources, software solutions, hardware and services and experience in negotiating and managing highly complex vendor contracts
