The Ontario Science Centre is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to perform administrative work and sales assistance in support of the International Sales Department's annual sales revenue targets, marketing and promotions plans, as well as customer service objectives.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Sales Coordinator, you will handle customer sales/service inquiries and monitor responses to selling efforts; coordinate all travel arrangements for staff and assist with customs and shipping of products internationally; conduct market research and analysis to produce a variety of reports; draft sales / promotional pieces and oversee design/production; administer the department's database and website presence identifying enhancements and work with Marketing and IT professionals to implement changes; provide coordinated and efficient office support.

How do I qualify?

Administrative & Organizational Skills

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, power point, and related software with preferred experience working with CRM's such as Sales Force.
• Ability to maintain record keeping systems, is detailed oriented and has a commitment to accuracy and precision.
• Knowledge of purchasing procedures; can prepare and track invoices, purchase orders, tracking spreadsheets for international clients and projects.
• Good organizational skills to coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements for the Director, Project Managers, Project Consultants, staff who travel with International Sales.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage concurrent tasks and projects, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a high pressure environment.

Sales and Marketing Skills

• Customer service skills along with initiative, tact and judgement to evaluate customer service issues and determine the appropriate written, verbal or in-person response.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to follow through on sales processes and production of marketing materials, Sales conference and trade shows for the department.
• Ability to write sales oriented articles and correspondence targeted at International Sales clients.

Communication & Interpersonal Skills

• Excellent written and oral communication skills to respond to inquiries/requests/correspondence on behalf of the Director and the rest of the International Sales Team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to provide a full range of support services to the International Sales Team including drafting letters and correspondence, collateral sales materials including brochures, direct mail campaign components and flyers/packages etc.

Research and Analytical Skills

• Requires research, reasoning and statistical analysis skills to identify, select and present information in a format that will inform International Sales strategies e.g. environmental scans on industry trends, threats and opportunities, return on investment in existing sales strategies including tradeshows and conferences, direct mail, personal calls.
• Excellent analytical skills to identify issues with potential impacts on stakeholders and partners and problem-solving skills to resolve identified issues.
• Ability to utilize research strategies, work methods, and communication vehicles to support targeted outcomes.
• Ability to compile, analyze and present research findings to the Director, Project Managers and Project Consultants.
